Review Widget
Embed and customize the Product Reviews block in your Shopify theme.
Adding the Widget
The DNA Blocks review widget is a Shopify Theme App Extension. It installs as a block that you can place anywhere in your theme using the Theme Editor — no code editing required.
Open the Theme Editor
Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize
Navigate to a product page
Use the page selector at the top to switch to a Product page template.
Add the block
Click Add block in the desired section, then search for Product Reviews and select it.
Save your theme
Click Save in the top right corner. The widget will now appear on your product pages.
Display Modes
The widget supports three display modes, configurable from the block settings panel in the Theme Editor.
| Mode | Description |

| Current Product | Shows reviews for the product currently being viewed. This is the default and works automatically on any product page without additional configuration. |
| Collection | Shows reviews for all products in a selected collection. Choose a collection in the block settings. Useful for homepage or landing page placements. |
| Product Type | Shows reviews for all products matching a specific product type (e.g. Snowboard). Enter the exact product type string in the block settings. |
Product Type is populated from the Product type field in Shopify Admin (Products → [Product] → Product type). Only reviews submitted or imported after you set product types will be filterable by type.

Slider vs. List View
The widget automatically renders as a horizontal slider when there are multiple reviews. Each card shows the customer's name, avatar initials, star rating, review text, and any attached photos. A "View Product" button links back to the reviewed product.
On smaller screens the slider adapts to a single-column layout with swipe support.
Managing Approved Reviews
Only approved reviews appear in the widget. Use the Review Dashboard in the app to:
- Approve pending reviews to make them live
- Reject reviews to hide them
- View photo and video attachments before deciding
